Want to Check Out The New Site Design?

Go here: http://beta.adultfriendfinder.com

A new design of the site is up and ready for you to test drive. This design is mainly aimed at helping new members more easily navigate the site.

Those of you in The Beta Test Group are already familiar with this design. Many of you have been helping with the design since May. I thought I'd post it here to give a wider audience a chance to check it out.

The main changes with this design:
1) The navigation has changed to make it more manageable, especially for newer members. You'll find everything that has come before is still there, it just may have been moved into a dropdown.

2) All the pages on the site are now a uniform size (960).

Problems you'll notice:

1) People who use HTML in Blog and Group posts may notice broken tables due to the new 960 width. 960 is smaller than the previous width, so if you are setting table widths by pixel lengths, it will be messed up. If you set widths by using =100%, it should be fine.

What's the plan for this? Will the site eventually look like this?
- Yes, it probably will look like this in the near future. Right now we are testing it with 10% of new registrants. We'll see how they do and tweak until we get it right.
- This is still a beta test, so we'll be changing things based on feedback.

Please leave your feedback here!

The "Hide" Link

Do you guys actually use the "Hide" link at the top of the page?

It's the link that jumps to a fake weather now page so that your boss, wife, , gimp don't see what your looking at.

Personally I feel this is obsolete. This was up there before you could open a new tab in a browser. I just open a new tab, or browser window by using a shortcut.

I ask because we are testing out a new design for the site and it's been dropped.
Yes, I use it - leave it there
No, get rid of that - this is 2011 man!

Do we give preference to Premium members when reviewing content?

This question comes up quite a bit. The answer is Sometimes for profiles, and No for other content.

Where we do give preference:
- Profile Reviews (new and updated profiles)
We have the option to select Premium members for review, but the agents generally work from oldest to newest. Agents would only use the option to review Premium profiles when they severely backlogged on profile reviews.

Where we do not give preference:
- All other content is reviewed based on when it was submitted by the member with no preference given to review Premium member content first.
- This includes pics, blog posts/comments, group topics/comments, advice lines, profile photos - anywhere you upload content outside of profile information.

Why do I see delays then?
- When there is a delay of more than an hour, it's a reflection of the number agents we have working, how many are working in each language and amount of content we are reviewing at the time you are posting.

Note:
- We do not review emails before you send them to other members. We'll only look at emails if they are reported for abuse.

Group Fixes

Please list anything you'd like to see fixed or improved with Groups here. Looks like we'll get some time to work on fixes, so I want to make sure I capture everything.

For this post, try to list things that you'd like to see fixed or improved with the tool. We'll work on getting your posts up on the site faster outside of this.

I'll start:
1) Allow moderators (and assistant-mods?) to be able to email every member of the group at once. This would allow groups to set up meet and greets because we don't review emails for contact informaion.
2) Allow a member of the group to take over when a moderator goes missing.
3) Fix "Now Chatting" so it lines up correctly.

What else?

I'll start:
1) Fix carriage returns - when you hit return it should post that way.
2) Include images in the preview.
3) Fix font issues - some fonts are being recognized, some don't hold the whole way through the post.
4) In Chrome, the color drop down doesn't work.

No? Good.

It's gone for good by the way. Just trying to clean up the house a little bit.

I know our pages can get long, but every keyboard has a "Home" key somewhere that will snap you back to the top.

Does a pop-up count as a profile view?

I've given conflicting information on this in the past, so here it is for the record.

It counts as a profile view, but not as someone who viewed you. Confused?

What is a popup?
On your home page or in search results you can scroll over a persons profile photo and see additional information pop up about them. These pop ups are set at a 1 second delay so they aren't annoying as you are moving around the page.

So it counts as a profile view?
Yes, but only in your total number of views. When you go to "Who's viewed me" there is a total number. It adds one to that total number every time someone looks at your pop-up.

But not who's viewed me?
Example: If you go look at my pop-up, I will not know you just looked at me under the "Who's viewed me" page. I simply won't see you on that page.

So if you see someone on "Who's Viewed Me" that means they actually went to your profile page to check you out.

Fears

I'm putting together a series of surveys targeted at members without profile pics. These are active members who broadcast, send real emails, leave testimonials - they just choose not to upload a profile pic. I thought I'd ask in here to and see if you guys had any feedback.

Maybe there's something we are missing, maybe there is a privacy setting that would allow women to upload their photos, but not show to everyone.

Privacy Questions:
1) Why don't some people upload a photo?
2) Are you worried about showing their face on the site, that people they know will find them?
3) Do you guys make a separate email account, or do they give out their main email address to people they meet?

Questions for Women:
5) Do they want to be contacted by only a particular type of person (like non-married)?
6) Do women ever get too many emails, winks and get freaked out?
7) What is your greatest fear about the site?

I'm going to put out some broad surveys asking these questions, but I know you guys have opinions on this. I'd love to hear any thoughts you have.

Don't worry, it's not just you. Everyone has had the same issue for about two days. There's no checkbox to select and delete them.

Just wanted to let you know we've fixed bug internally and will have it pushed out before the weekend. It's bug CD-314 for those of you who like to keep track.

Flirting in the USA

Just some Friday fun over here. We got to thinking – is the friendly Southern U.S. really that friendly? Are they Waving in Washington? Spanking in Seattle? Are New Yorkers really that mean?

So, we ran some numbers for U.S. cities, and analyzed the data for all flirts sent and received in the U.S. over the period of 90 days – and we found a few surprises!

Cities that Sent the Most Flirts:

There's the age-old stereotype that all New Yorkers are... well, let's just say less than friendly. But our data revealed that Big Apple denizens are #1 when it comes to sending Hugs and #2 with sending Kisses...Daaaaaw! Poor misunderstood New Yorkers aren't so bad after all (but try telling that to one who's just stolen your cab.)

Whatever they may say about "Don't Mess With Texas," the Lonestar state is particularly affectionate: Houston is #1 when it comes to sending both Winks and Kisses.

Even though Los Angeles has a reputation for being faker than a centerfold's cup size, the city ranks as #2 for most Waves. Whether those are actually sincere or not remains to be seen.

Chicago took the honors for the city most likely to send a Smile, with Orlando coming in a close second.

Cities that Received the Most Flirts:

Salt Lake City is the most huggable – earning the #1 spot for most Hugs received. Atlanta, home to that famed Southern Hospitality, received the most Waves, and Chicago is the most Kissable city.

Houston and Los Angeles received the most number of Spanks... and to probably no one's surprise, Las Vegas is by far the kinkiest city, topping the list of the city most likely to slap you on the ass.

You know what they say about what happens in Vegas...
